At this moment of international crisis, I express my sincere concern for you and your family regarding COVID-19. Nothing is more important than our health and wellness. As such, please follow the advice recommended by the Center for Disease Control and your local health officials.
Additionally, please know that Chief Justice Harold D. Melton has declared a Statewide Judicial Emergency due to the spread of the coronavirus throughout Georgia. According to health experts, there are potential infection risks of those of us who work in or are required to appear in our courts.”
Accordingly, Court hearings scheduled through April 13, 2020, are canceled. Nevertheless, here are four points that I want you to know moving forward.
Our courts "remain open to address essential functions and matters defined as those necessary to protect the health, safety, and liberty of individuals.”
Priority matters will be re-scheduled with appropriate safeguards.
If you have questions, call the Clerk of Courts Office (please refrain from visiting your Clerks Office) or our office at 912.225.1600.
Our office will continue to operate but with safeguards including converting most appointments and consultation to teleconference/video conferencing. Please call our office first or use Mycase before coming into the office.
In this moment of crisis, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. My team and I are here to serve you.
